The amount of workmanship and time that went into this solid wood carving is impressive. Due to there being no removable parts on this piece the carving of the tail had to be very carefully done in order for it to flow naturally to the hand which is holding it The end result is absolutely superb. This piece is decorated with traditional Oaxacan Zapotec patterns in black detail

These grecas patterns are so meticulously and finely painted that an agave thorn was used instead of a brush in order to provide the fine lines that a traditional brush can't produce
