Jeff Runquist - Z Zinfandel (Massoni Ranch Vineyard) 2022 (750ml) Fortified WineNostro Vino Vineyard, Amador County TASTING NOTES: The 2022 "R" Zinfandel from the Nostro Vino Vineyard has a ruby purple color of moderate depth with carmine hues. The aroma is classic Amador Zinfandel; loaded with briary dusty raspberries, both red and black. It has the Goldilocks of aromas, not too red (cherry and strawberry) and not too ripe (raisins, prunes and molasses) but midway between the two; having left the realm of red while not quite

no malolactic fermentation

Now deeply rooted (30’ and counting)

100% Sangiovese pH - 3

aged on the less for 11 months without stirring

Aging for 12 to 15 months

followed by the “coupage” of the various vats

This is all mellow pear and melon set off by notes of lime blossom

the smoothness has a somewhat mineral tone

Keeping good energy throughout

Firm tannins are present but give the wine a beautiful structure

dishes and stews

broody at the moment but opening with aeration
